History

Guys Lumber and Hardware was started July 4th, 2014 by Chris and Rebecca Smith of Centerville, Texas. While the name changed, the core business has not, serving the community for over 50 years from the same location. The lumber and hardware store has changed hands many times over the years but has always stood for great customer service, quality products, and low prices.

As Guys Lumber and Hardware continues to grow we have never forgotten these core characteristics. We have pushed forward into the future increasing our footprint, carrying more items to meet our customers needs, and continuing to improve our customer relations while never forgetting those same customers that have made us who we are today. Since Guys Lumber and Hardware's beginning, our existing location continues to be renovated, modernized, and expanded to meet our growing customer base needs. In 2018 Guys Lumber and Hardware took another step into the future adding e-commerce to their website, expanding the products available to their customers even more.

In 2020, Guys Lumber and Hardware expanded their footprint in East Texas adding two more stores. In February 2020 the second store in Midway, TX was officially opened and helped to service the small town population. In April, just two months later, Chris and Rebecca Smith purchased Carroll Lumber in Teague, TX. Remodeling began quickly and the third Guys Lumber and Hardware was soon open for business.

Guys Lumber and Hardware is about bringing family and friends together to achieve goals. We strive to create lasting relationships built on trust and mutual respect. It is because of these relationships through the years that we continue to grow and look forward to servicing our ever growing clientele for years to come!
